Japanese Chin with some Shih-Tzu mix

Japanese Chin with some Shih-Tzu mix

Our chin is named Louie-Louie. He is such an adorable and lovable dog. He is quite cat like where he likes to go off on his own. But then there are times when he loves to cuddle.

He gets along very well with other dogs. We got a companion for him after he turned one. He was such a perfect dog that we realized we could handle another one. We wanted him to have a companion.

Funny enough it's our Malti-Poo that always wants to be with him. He does not mind either way. For some reason he has gotten quite big.

He was only 7 pounds at 4 months and we were told he should not get that much bigger. He did. He is currently between 16 to 18 pounds. We had to cut down his food and increased his exercise.

He loves to eat. We give him veggies as snacks. He loves them. He already knows the schedule. If we are late in giving him his food he will remind us. He also let's us know when it's time for his walks and his snacks.

He and his 'sister' are the best dogs we could ever want. I cannot imagine our home without them. I guess it's true what they say: "a house is not a home without a dog".

Why Louie-Louie

by: Anonymous

Louie-Louie is my youngest son's dog. But we all love him just as much. He got the dog when he was 11 years old.

Before we even got the dog I asked my son what name he wants. He said Louie. But I told him that we used to have a dog named Louie when I was young. So he said he will name the dog Louie-Louie. This was before we knew whether it would be a boy or girl or breed!

When we went to the breeder both of us saw this dog and fell in love with him instantly. He just looked like a Louie-Louie.

Excellent name for your Japanese Chin mix

Hey Sonia,
The first question that comes to mind for me is, "Why the name?" Are you fans of Richard Berry, who wrote the song? The Kingsmen, who recorded it in the 1960s? Or you have heard one of about a million versions of the song and you just like it?

It's always fun to know the "why" behind the name (at least for me).

Anyway, thanks for sharing your story. It sounds like you love dogs as much as my family does. We have four at the moment. A 13 year old Chocolate Lab and three Cockapoos.

Louie Louie, oh no, We gotta go
Aye-yi-yi-yi, I said ...
